Jonathan Tyler Barnett

Children’s author Jonathan Tyler Barnett’s favorite time of day is at night when he and his daughter play tag and read a story together before bedtime. His new picture book, Tag You’re It! is an open tribute to their special bond, featuring his daughter as the story’s main character. His hope is that their book will become the stimulus for other families to have similar nightly storytime experiences that will last generations.     

Jonathan believes a great book is one that evokes strong emotions and provides a different perspective. He wants his young readers to come away from his story having learned something that stays with them long after the book is closed.

Jonathan is an Emergency Room Registered Nurse, and when he isn’t writing joyful stories for families to share, he enjoys competing in Ironman triathlons, studying Brazilian jiu-jitsu, playing chess, and playing guitar and ukulele. He lives in Navarre, Florida, with his wife, Ashley, daughter Sadie, and their dog, Ella. Tag You’re It! is his debut children’s book.
